What Is The ECO4 Scheme?
ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation) provides funding designed to help low-income and vulnerable households out of fuel poverty, and reduce carbon emissions through FREE home energy upgrades including insulation, heating systems and renewable technologies.
If you’re grappling with high energy bills or residing in a poorly insulated property, funding could see you with FREE home energy upgrades.

Check Your ECO4 Eligibility
If you’re eligible, Cyd Innovation is here to help and process funding.
Ensuring funding eligibility means you MUST qualify for AT LEAST one of the below criteria.
- A home with an EPC rating of D, E, F or G (Find your EPC rating)
- Ownership of the property, or permission from your landlord
OR A household income below £31,000, or receipt of a qualifying benefit
- Universal Credit (UC)
- Child Tax Credit (CTC)
- Working Tax Credit (WTC)
- Income-Based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
- Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income Support (IS)
- Housing Benefit
- Pension Credit (Guarantee or Savings Credit)
- Child Benefit (subject to income caps
None of the above apply? Not to worry! The ECO4 FLEX Scheme widens the ECO4 eligibility criteria. So even if you don’t fall into the criteria above, there is a chance you can still qualify for funding (scroll down)
ECO4 Funding Energy Efficiency Measures
Insulation Grants

Funding could see installers fit cavity wall insulation, solid wall insulation and loft insulation to reduce heat loss and cut energy bills.
- Reduces heat loss up to 25%
- Save up to £400 per year
Boilers Grants

If your boiler is over 10 years old and inefficient, you may be eligible for a free replacement.
- Average savings of £2,000-4,500 for a new boiler
- Reducing overall home cold spots, increasing comfort
Heating Grants

Support is also available for modern heating systems and low-carbon technologies, helping you future-proof your home.
- Switching from gas boilers to air source heat pumps (ASHPs) Reduce household carbon footprint by up to 60% (Annually)
ECO4 Flex Scheme
The ECO4 flex scheme is a referral scheme which widens the eligibility criteria. So, if you’ve failed to qualify for the eligibility criteria above, not to worry!
ECO4 Flex Eligibility
Although eligibility may be widened, households are still expected to meet minimum requirements.
Households may qualify for these Grants if any of the following are met:
- Less than £31,000 a year
- Vulnerability class (debt, health conditions, aged 65+)
- Health grounds (cardiovascular disease, mobility issues and respiratory conditions)

It is important to note, whilst all of the authorities below may have offered the ECO FLEX scheme to their respective residents, applicants must fall within the eligibility criteria identified above.
Need to know if your local councils provides ECO4 Flex? Look for a published Statement of Intent (SoI) on their website, and contact them.
