Cyd Innovation’s 2025 Social Impact Report

Our Environmental and Social Impact Report 2024/25 is here!
Showcasing the efforts of Cyd Innovation in embedding positive social impact, creating sustainable homes and supporting local communities. Our 2024/25 Social Impact Report highlights it all. At Cyd Innovation, social impact is not just an add-on, it’s fundamental to our business. We believe that companies have a responsibility to be part of the solution. In creating tangible, positive change. To people, and communities.
A Comprehensive Social Impact Strategy
We’ve chosen to take a step back from financial metrics, instead — focusing on use of the Impact Pathway. Tracking how our actions create real, lasting change. The Impact Pathway reflects a holistic perspective on our inputs. Connecting volunteering time and funding, to the activities we deliver, the produced outputs and the long-term change they create. By measuring this full chain of impact, we aim to increase transparency and deepen our understanding of where we’re making a difference. And importantly, how we can improve over time.
Through this approach, we gain a fuller picture of our impact. The genuine change and how it’s resonated with people and communities.
Based in Wales, Cyd Innovation selected themes that aligned with both the Sustainable Development Goals and The Welsh Well-being of Future Generations Act. From quality education to cohesive communities; Our Social Impact Report highlights our progress across three key areas: Climate, Community, Culture.
Culture
We work hard to ensure all employees feel valued, supported, welcomed. Our focus on inclusivity, Welsh identity, well-being, alongside training & development ensures we maintain our strong workplace culture. And of course, a high level of employee satisfaction.
This year 35% of all staff and 50% of our management team were female, and 90% of staff lived local to our Welsh office. Employee well-being is one of our top internal priorities. This year staff used 509 well-being hours, taking some time for themselves to rest and recharge. Our employee net promoter score of +100 reflects that our employees not only enjoy working here, they recommend others do the same! Further supported by development schemes that keep us up to date with our industry. Also encouraging staff to push themselves — developing personally as well as professionally. In 2024/25 our team completed 63 training modules and over 173 hours of external trainings
Climate
We are taking steps to address environmental challenges facing our communities. Creating warm homes without sacrificing our environment. Through delivery of retrofit projects, supply chain management, and transparent carbon data — we strive to champion environmentally minded business. While, as a consultancy, our business model is inherently low carbon, we acknowledge the role we have to play in monitoring and minimising our emissions. This year we have continued to offer our hybrid working scheme and swapped to LED bulbs across the office. We also have an independent 3 scope carbon emissions assessment in the works with plans to implement a robust reduction plan.
Community
Community – We believe sustainable businesses are at the heart of communities. We want to address green skills gap with educational initiatives, give back to wider community through voluntary initiatives, empower our communities. We’re inspiring young people from North Wales through education, training, and investing in their future. Our donation of £1,000 to M-Sparc’s Egni scheme funded the ‘Eco-house’, a small-scale model. A sustainable house which will tour schools throughout Wales to explore STEM careers and learn about retrofit solutions. Furthermore, our team volunteered over 38 hours across three community projects this year, bringing life back to unused areas of housing estates, creating seating areas, and removing invasive species.
At Cyd Innovation, we don’t just meet the standard – we set it.

Behind The Scenes: Our Social Value Team In Action
Cyd Innovation’s Social Impact team is growing. Two new staff joined this year. Ciara Murray and Ruby Garrigan are working behind the scenes to ensure Cyd Innovation is striving for lasting meaningful change in people’s lives.
This year’s social impact report has taken a new approach. Working to assess how far our impact actually reaches by collating previous years’ data and ensuring they align with both Sustainable Development Goals and The Welsh Well-being For Future Generations Act; we’ve created our annual Environmental And Social Impact Report 2024/25.
Our brand new KPI’s have set measurable, transparent goals for business driven by people over profit.
Profit With Purpose
Being an ethical, sustainable business is no easy feat, we know we still have a long way to go. However, publishing our Social Impact Report holds us accountable and demonstrates our genuine commitment to using business as a force for good. We are committed to transparent, honest reporting and are looking at achieving our B-Corp certification by 2026. Cyd Innovation’s unlimited volunteering policy ensures our partnerships with local groups continue to grow. Adapting our operations with the environment in mind. The year ahead looks bright.
With renewed ambition, we’re building on the successes of the past year — deepening community engagement, investing in staff development, and evolving our approach as we grow. Social value continues to be a powerful driver of innovation and business growth, contributing to stronger staff retention, more resilient communities, and reduced operational costs.
