Also referred to as a RICS Level 2 Home Survey, a homebuyers survey is a visual inspection of a property by a RICS-qualified home surveyor with the purpose of identifying significant issues throughout the property. Such issues include damp, mould, structural or roof problems. Essentially, it is a descriptive, in-depth overview of the condition of a property, specifically for more conventional or modern homes.

Level 2 surveys help buyers make informed decisions through highlighting the defects and in most cases, helps individuals save money by either rectifying these issues prior to purchase or sale, or negotiating an improved price with the seller.

On most occasions, a Level 2 Home Survey will take a matter of hours, with the detailed report being sent over within 48 working hours.

A RICS Level 2 Survey includes an assessment across the following criterion: Property Structure including: walls, floors, ceilings, roof and visible elements.
