Cyd At Housing 2025: Scaling Retrofit, Delivering Social Value, and Making Our Mark.

A Bold Debut on the Housing 2025 centre stage, as leading sponsors
Housing 2025 in Manchester was more than just a date in the diary, we wanted to mark the event as a defining moment for Cyd Innovation. As our first major industry event as a leading sponsor, we arrived with a clear ambition. To show the housing sector that Cyd is here, and we’re ready to make the difference we stand for.
Thanks to the recruitment surge in recent months, Cyd arrived with a team of ten passionate staff members, a vibrant stand following our recent rebranding, and a powerful message. We set out to demonstrate how we’re delivering retrofit at scale, implementing social value that lasts.

A Stand That Stood Out
Cyd wanted to ensure our stand wasn’t merely a space for advertising, but an experience to remember. Reflecting our values of sincerity, innovation and quality it quickly became a hive of activity. (No accreditation to the free Welsh cakes we were handing out!) Fostering great connections and potential collaborations between industry leaders with what came out feelings like a renewed sense of purpose. A clear sense of direction for the upcoming months – the continued pursuit of a successful year, held together by a passionate team of hungry individuals eager to make their mark within the industry.
Whilst the slick contrasting shades of green complemented our passion for sustainability, our Pixio display played just as important a role – highlighting a dynamic range of our services, providing deep insight into our successful work through case studies. Visual storytelling allowed a new interpretation of Cyd, encouraging understanding of not purely what we do, but how housing leaders come to Cyd with a vision we turn into reality, our YorEnergy case study for instance.
And of course, we added a warm, personal touch: fresh Welsh cakes.
Reintroducing Cyd Innovation
“We all knew Housing 2025 was the perfect opportunity to reintroduce Cyd to those we wanted to see us the most. It wasn’t about looking great or visibility… we wanted to share our story and genuine intention. We wanted to clarify our mission across our board of services, honouring the reason we’re here in the first place. There’s a serious problem, and work that needs to be done within the next 10 years and we’re more than equipped to help, and it provided the perfect chance to show that! The logo, colours all of it, obviously a nice touch as this is now Cyd going forward, but we clarified our mission, we clarified exactly HOW we can help, outlining our path over the future. “

A Voice on the Main Stage – Leading Housing 2025 – Unlock Net Zero

Taking to the stage on three occasions, the main man, director Steven Reynolds – playing a pivotal role in the entire unlock net zero conference programme, contributing to three high-profile sessions that tackled some of the sector’s most pressing issues:
Unlocking Private Sector Investment for Retrofit
Steven shared insights on how to attract and deploy private capital in retrofit projects—without compromising on quality or community outcomes. Drawing on Cyd’s experience, he highlighted how social enterprises can bridge the gap between ambition and action.
Transitioning to Net Zero in an Uncertain World
As chair of this session, Steven guided a thoughtful and forward-looking discussion on how the sector can stay on course toward net zero, even amid political and economic turbulence. His leadership helped surface practical strategies and bold ideas.
Retrofit in a Devolved, Place-Based Environment
In this session, Steven explored the importance of tailoring retrofit strategies to local contexts. He spoke passionately about Cyd’s place-based approach, how we work with communities and not just in them, to ensure retrofit is meaningful, measurable, and sustainable.
Although a great opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals and leaders within the space, it gave prime opportunity to amplify our voice. Strategic platforms to showcase the relevance of cyd in growing issues, essentially, our capability in responding to pressing industry issues. Whether it’s attracting ethical investment or ensuring retrofit quality at scale, we’re not just talking about change, we’re delivering it.
