What is a Retrofit Assessment?

All publicly funded domestic energy efficiency works in the UK must comply with a consumer protection framework called PAS2035. This is designed to put checks and balances in place to prevent installers from committing fraud and claiming funding for works that haven't been completed. A Retrofit Assessment is the first part of this process and is a detailed home energy assessment that must be carried out by a qualified and Trustmark registered Retrofit Assessor. An assessment is much more detailed than an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) survey and creates a list of recommended energy efficiency measures for consideration by the home owner.
